The first part of October 2024 brought several key updates from Shopify. These changes focus on improving fulfillment workflows, location management, and mobile checkout experiences.

Bulk Purchase of Shipping Labels (Released: October 2, 2024)

Shopify introduced a new feature for purchasing shipping labels in bulk. Merchants can now buy labels for up to 100 ready-to-ship orders directly from the Shipping Labels page. You can also group orders by item type or quantity, making it easier to fulfill similar orders in batches. This will save time for merchants handling large volumes of shipments.

New Location Settings Index (Released: October 10, 2024)

The Location Settings Index has been revamped in Shopify Admin to support up to 1000 locations. This update allows merchants with multiple store locations to search, filter, and paginate through their locations more efficiently. The new index also includes updated location cards and an address validation feature, reducing errors during location setup and management.

Mobile Checkout Enhancements (Released: October 11, 2024)

Shopify has improved app blocks for mobile checkout. App blocks that customize the discount code field in one-page checkouts will now appear at the top of the order summary on mobile devices. Previously, these blocks were only displayed at the bottom of the checkout page. This update makes it easier for customers to access discount code fields on mobile, improving their overall checkout experience.
